Lazarus shines

Bangalore: Steve Lazarus's allround show (91 and five for 46) guided Corporation Bank to a 162-run victory over MPM Bhadravati in a KSCA Group II, second division league match here on Friday.

The scores: Corporation Bank 306 for nine in 50 overs (Steve Lazarus 91, T. Vinay 67, Sheshachala four for 104) bt MPM Bhadravati 144 in 31 overs (Steve Lazarus five for 46).

ABB CC 76 in 34 overs (M.V. Prashanth four for 23) lost to SBI 77 for two in 13.2 overs.

SWRI 168 in 36.2 overs (R.V. Prabhakar 41, M. Srinivas six for 56) lost to BEL SC 170 for four in 29.5 overs.

Manipal Hospital CC 92 in 23.2 overs (R. Sazian seven for 44) lost to KSRTC 93 for two in 16.2 overs (Prashanth 40 n.o.).

RBI Rec. Club 244 for two in 45 overs (N. Ashwath 129 n.o., Ashwin Punja 69) bt ADE SC 85 in 20.5 overs (Ashwanath five for 26).

BHEL (EPD) SC 174 in 48.4 overs (H.L. Govindappa 100, A. Manohar five for 37) bt BEML Rail Coach Sp. Club 157 in 43.4 overs (Narayan 50, M. Ramesh six for 56).

Sports meet

The All India Central Revenue sports meet will be held in Bangalore from February 19 to 21. The meet is expected to attract nearly 1000 athletes representing four zones and the institutions that work under the Central Revenue Boards.

Karnataka wins

Karnataka defeated Andhra 25-21, 25-21, 25-20 to win the all India postal volleyball tournament in Kozhikode on Friday. Kerala beat Tamil Nadu 25-22, 25-12, 25-20 to finish third.
