GUWAHATI: Tejaswani Sawant (Maharashtra) should definitely be returning home with some pleasant memories of her stay here as the 16-year-old had yet another memorable day at the 4th AP Battalion ranges, Khalipara, on Friday.

The Maharashtra shooter, who had been on song while winning golds in the 50m rifle prone and 10m rifle events earlier, was once again unstoppable as she picked up a third individual gold on Friday.

In the process, Tejaswani also equalled the existing Games record in the 50m rifle 3-position with 686.7 points.

The Maharashtra team also was a beneficiary of Tejaswani's good show as the side (which had Deepali Deshpande (561) — the record-holder for the event, who had to be satisfied with the sixth position in the individual overall standings — and Anuja Jung (557) as it other members) finished first in the team event with a total of 1705 points. Manipur claimed the silver with 1661 points ahead of Services (1657).

In the men's 25m rapid fire pistol, it was a clean sweep for Services as Vijay Kumar (775.4), Pemba Tamang (753.1) and Ram Kishan Yadav (752.6) took the first three positions.

Consequently, Services also won the team gold with a tally of 1694 points, while Maharashtra (1633) and Madhya Pradesh (1544) finished second and third.

Team: 1. Services (Vijay Kumar 578, Pemba Tamang 556, Ram Kishan Yadav 560), 1694, 2. Maharashtra (Ronak Pandit 564, Ashok Pandit 543, Rommel Pandit 526), 1633, 3. Madhya Pradesh (Naresh Kumar 549, Poonam Kumar 560, Vivek Jain 435), 1544.

Women: 50m rifle 3-position: 1. Tejaswani Sawant 686.7 - EGR (587), 2. Avneet Sidhu Kaur (Pun), 668.8 (576), 3. Kuheli Gangulee (AP), 667.5 (573).
