TIRUCHI: Within a fortnight of launching its operations in Madurai, digiBlitz Technologies Inc., a six-year-old software solutions and services company based at Virginia, United States of America, started its Offshore Development Centre here on Tuesday. Engineering, and undergraduate and postgraduate students of Computer Science and Information Technology enrolling with the Centre will be allowed to learn and develop software along with digiBlitz's experienced software professionals for a fee of Rs. 18,000. At the end of a 300-hour self-learning programme spread over four months, the company would either absorb them for its US or Chennai centres or place them in other software companies. Similar centres are on the anvil in Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram, the Accounts Director of digiBlitz, Praful Mayekar, told presspersons. The company intends to leverage the potential of the section of otherwise potential students who miss out narrowly in securing jobs with major software companies. Students would get an opportunity to work on Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) projects, the future opportunity area in the software industry.
Plan for the year
Mr. Praful also informed that the company would increase the strength of software consultants at its U.S. Centre from 30 to 100 and at the Chennai ODC from 100 to 300 in a year's time. Further details about the programme are available with the Tiruchi Centre Director, P. Mani, at 94445 42743.
