TIRUCHI: Two persons were killed when a gelatine stick exploded at Ootathur village near Siruganur in the district on Friday. The victims were identified as Subramani (47) and Krishnamurthy, both from Oothathur. According to police sourceshere, the duo had placed two gelatine sticks to blast rock under the earth of a piece of land belonging to Subramani. While one of the gelatine sticks exploded, the two went nearby to clear the stone fragments, when the second gelatine stick exploded. The two were killed on the spot. The Siruganur police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations.
