Letters to the Editor
The Ganderbal killings ought to be condemned in no uncertain terms and it is imperative that the rogue police and Army personnel are brought to justice at the earliest ("Top cops arrested in Kashmir," Feb. 4). All the same it seems wholly unfair that the security forces are being hauled over the coals for the misdeeds of a few avaricious people among them. What is disappointing is that the people of Kashmir and human rights activists hardly protest whenever innocent people are killed by militants. Counter-insurgency operations have become a necessary evil.
