Praiseworthy

Chief Justice of India K.G. Balakrishnan's interview to Karan Thapar (Op-ed, Feb. 8) in which he spoke on sensitive issues in a frank and forthright manner is worthy of praise. He had the courage to admit that the judgments of a CJI could also be wrong. This only enhances our esteem of him.

T. Sukumar,
Hillsboro, Oregon

What is most striking in the interview is Justice Balakrishnan's robust attitude to external criticism. What is more, he sees it as a positive sign for the development of law.
