Letters to the Editor
I did not want to leave Kerala without expressing my heartfelt dhanyavaad (thanks) to the excellent, reader-friendly and very informative newspaper, The Hindu , that kept me company for six weeks. This is my sixth six-week stay in Thrissur, where I have been coming since 1992-93 for ayurvedic treatment. There are no FM radio stations where I stayed. There is only an AM radio station (which broadcasts limited news reports in English) and very, very limited access to the Internet. I had no short-wave radio. Just as I was wondering how I was going to get the news, The Hindu gave me all the news I wanted and more. At the end of my stay, I was more informed about the world than I was in Europe and the U.S. The Hindu is certainly one of the best newspapers around. Complete in many respects.
