CHAMPION SIDE: Sao Paulo Football Club players arriving at the Taj Residency in Kochi.
KOCHI: They knew no English. But language was not a problem as the stars from Sao Paulo Football Club arrived to a warm welcome in Kochi on Monday evening. Sao Paulo, the Brazilian champion and two-time World Club champion, will take on Kerala in a Super Soccer Series match at the Nehru Stadium here on Wednesday evening. Despite winning its last three matches against East Bengal, Mohammedan Sporting and Mohun Bagan by impressive margins, the visiting team has not lost any of its hunger.
Attacking game
"We don't know what will happen, you can't say about football," the Sao Paulo coach Antonio Carlos Silva coach said at the media conference at the Taj Residency. "But we will attack. Attack is the best form of defence." Regarding Indian football, the Brazilian coach said: "Your physical preparation needs to improve. Also the technical aspects." Apart from the Brazilian team officials, Aditya Kashyap, the President of the Indian Football Association which is organising the series, and Kerala Football Association President K.M.I. Mather spoke at the media meet. Asianet will telecast live the match. The match will telecast on Asianet News channel from 5.30 p.m. Principal Correspondent
