Easy for Kanchana Memorial CC

Coimbatore: Kanchana Memorial Cricket Club (KMCC), Pallipalayam, defeated Leela Memorial Cricket Club by six wickets in the TNCA-DCAN `A' division league at the SPB Colony grounds in Pallipalayam on Sunday. R. Kumar struck a fine 81 for Kanchana.

The scores (A division): Leela Memorial CC (Namakkal) 172 for eight in 40 overs (Dharmendran 58) lost to Kanchana Memorial CC (Pallipalayam) 175 for four in 36.1 overs (R. Kumar 81, R. Murthy 46).

Five wkt. win for RCT

Ramakrishna Cricket Trust posted a five-wicket win over Arumugam Cricket Club in the TNCA-CDCA first division league for the Pricol Trophy at the SNR Sons grounds here on Sunday.

After restricting its opponent to 132, Ramakrishna, thanks to Giriprasad's unbeaten half ton, scored the required runs in 29 overs losing five wickets.

The scores (first division):

Arumugam CC 132 in 36 overs (K.N. Rangarajan 48, Syed Ibrahim four for 23) lost to Ramakrishna CT 136 for five in 29 overs (Giriprasad 52 not out).

Rural sports

The Bharathiar University Silver Jubilee year rural sports and games for men and women organised by the Department of Physical Education will be held at the varsity premises in Coimbatore from February 6 to 10. About 100 teams from rural areas in and around Coimbatore are expected to participate.

U-13 cricket

The three-day TNCA inter district under-13 cricket final between Coimbatore and Thiruvallur will begin at the SNR Sons grounds in Coimbatore on Tuesday.

The General Manager of Indian Overseas Bank and former Tamil Nadu Ranji star, V. Krishnaswamy, will inaugurate.
