Gautam scores unbeaten 170

Bangalore: Gautam's unbeaten 170 set up Reliance's 147-run victory over Astrazenica in an SOS corporate cricket tournament match here during the weekend. Reliance posted 324 for three in 25 overs and restricted Astrazenica to 177 for seven in 25 overs.

Postal posts win

Postal Department defeated ADE 2-1 in a Super Division football league that commenced at the Football Stadium here on Monday.

It was ADE that inched ahead after the opening minutes of lacklustre football. In the 34th minute, Wilfred scored of a Thamarai cross leaving Postal custodian Ravindran rooted to the spot.

However Postal — one of the teams that earned a promotion to the super division this year — proved its mettle with a strong comeback. The equaliser was slotted in the 44th minute as Srinivasa capitalised on a free-kick floater.

Postal continued to march ahead and in the second half, a 53rd minute goal sealed the match in its favour as N. Xavier headed in a lob from Srinivasa.

Earlier in an `A' division league match, ASC defeated BEML (EM) 1-0. Choudhary scored for ASC in the 56th minute.
