Kaif to lead Uttar Pradesh

Kanpur : Mohammad Kaif would lead Uttar Pradesh in first two matches of the Central Zone Ranji one-day cricket tournament.

The series will start from February 10 and the selected players would assemble for a training camp at Kamla Club here on February 6, Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association said.

The names of Piyush Chawla and Tanmay Srivastava were missing from the 20-strong list as they were playing for the India Under-19 team in New Zealand.

The team: Mohammad Kaif (captain), Suresh Raina, Shivakant Shukla, Ravikant Shukla, Jyoti Yadav, Ali Murtaza, Anshul Kapoor, Rahat Elahi, R P Singh, Salabh Srivastava, Ratnesh Mishra, Praveen Kumar, Avinash Yadav, Prashant Malviya, Amir Khan, Utkarsh Chandra, Ali Hamid Zaidi, Asharaf Ali, Parvinder Singh and Vikram Joshi. — PTI
