Call to speed up Plan project implementation

Thiruvananthapuram: District panchayat president Anavoor Nagappan has stressed the need to expedite the implementation of Plan projects.

Presiding over a meeting of the panchayat here on Friday, he directed implementing officers to avoid spill over of Plan projects into the next financial year.

The meeting decided to install boards for projects funded by the District Panchayat.

Mr. Nagappan said the panchayat had decided to foot the electricity bill of schools managed by it.

Education Minister M.A. Baby is scheduled to inaugurate the scheme at a function to be held at Balaramapuram High School on February 6.

Vice-president B.P. Murali attended the meeting.
