Corrections and Clarifications

A report "EPF Board, Centre should decide: Yechury" (January 29, 2007) stated that it was the 25th year of the Battle of Plassey. It should have been the 250th year.

A sentence in "Cricket fans lap up the first full game at Chepauk in 5 years" (Chennai city, January 28, 2007, page 2) was: "The last time the crowds [in Chennai] were treated to a full game was way back on January 25, 2002, when India beat West Indies in an ODI encounter." It should have been "when India beat England".

A sentence in "Samuels eclipses Uthappa with a fine knock" ("Sport", January 28, 2007), a report on the West Indies-India cricket match in Chennai, was: "By the time, Ajit Agarkar had him caught behind, two short of a 100, [Marlon] Samuels had put his side within 49 runs of victory." The scoreboard gave it as 4-219 (Samuels), which would have made it within 50 runs of victory. The scoreboard was right.
