NEW DELHI: R.B. Ramesh's winning streak was halted when Ivan Sokolov handed out a 26-move drubbing in the fourth round of the Gibtelecom Masters chess tournament at Gibraltar on Friday. With Michael Adams and Michael Roiz, the two other overnight leaders, deciding to call truce after just 19 moves, Sokolov emerged as the sole leader with four points.

Ramesh (3) lost to Ivan Solokov (Ned, 4); Algimantas Butnorious (Ltu, 2.5) drew with Sandipan Chanda (3); Nisha Mohota (2) lost to David Smerdon (Aus, 3); N.
