Sunil Kumar loses

KOLKATA: The Indian challenge was reduced to the doubles in the $15,000 ITF men's Futures tennis tournament here on Thursday.

In doubles, however, an Indian pair was assured of a place in the final, as Vijay Kannan and Ashutosh Singh set up a semifinal clash against Pathanjali Ravishankar and Sunil Kumar.

The results (quarterfinals): Singles: Todor Enev (Bul) bt Sunil Kumar 6-3, 6-1; Gabriel Moraru (Rom) bt Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan 6-2, 6-1; Kyu-Tae Im (Kor) bt Simeo Ivanov (Bul) 6-3, 6-1; Artemon Apostu-Efremov (Rom) bt Alexei Kedriouk (Kaz) 6-0, 6-2.
