Unique silk sari launched

Cooptex recently launched a unique silk sari in 1.64 lakh natural colours, named "Mayil Thogai" by Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi during its launch.

Though each sari is priced at Rs.40,000, there has been heavy demand from customers, including those from countries such as the USA and Dubai.

Mr. Ramakrishnan of USA, the first to place anorder for the sari, received it from Special Officer and Cooptex Managing Dirctor M.P. Nirmala.

The sari has been manufactured by Sri Ramalinga Sowdeswari Weavers Cooperative Society, Sirumugaipudur, Coimbatore district, in coordination with Cooptex. Replicas of the seven wonders of the world and the temple tower of Sri Meenakshi Amman Temple, Madurai, have been woven into the sari.
