Two held for cheating engineering firm
Staff Reporter
CHENNAI
: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested two persons on charge of cheating their employer and a court has remanded them to judicial custody.
Following a complaint from Anand M Patel of Thambu Chetty Street, the Commissioner of Police had directed the CCB police to register a case and investigate.
A special team found that based on the recommendation of the complainant's salesman Tamilselvasekar, diploma engineers Perumal, P T Rajan and Arvind Babu were employed in Mr Patel's firm.
The firm had procured a fabrication order worth Rs 30 lakh from a power generation unit in Orissa. After the materials were ready, Mr Patel sent his employees for installation.
However, the four -- Tamilselvasekar, Perumal, Rajan and Babu -- had clandestinely floated a firm "Sriram Infotech" and allegedly carried out the works at Orissa and collected the money in their firm's name.
When Mr Patel didn't get his dues cleared, he realised that he had been duped and had lodged a complaint.
Police arrested P T Rajan and Aravind Babu.
A magistrate court remanded them to judicial custody, police press release stated.
