HYDERABAD: Alapati Siddarth bagged a double, winning the men's singles and doubles titles in the Moin-ud-Dowla Open tennis tournament at its premises on Sunday. Siddarth won the singles event defeating A.R. Anand Kumar 6-0, 6-3 and later combined well with Vivek Reddy to get the better of Manchit Madan and Daniel Raj 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
Ashish advances
P. Ashish Rao defeated Vamshidhar 8-5 in the boys' under-14 first round of the MCH open tennis tournament at Indira Park. The results: First round: Men: Ayaz bt N. Sharat Chandra 8-4; N.K. Visvek bt Pradeep 8-3; Nasar Babu bt Irfanuddin 8-0; Baghirath bt Sai Kumar 8-3; Amit bt G. Subramanyam 8-6; Somal Srinivas bt M.M.S. Nithin 8-3. Boys: U-14: Arun Saurabh bt Y. Basketball tournament

KITS wins tournament
KITS (Warangal) scored a five-wicket win over Aurora Engineering College (Hyderabad) in the final of the fifth S.R. Champions Trophy State-level inter-engineering college cricket tournament in Warangal on Sunday. Thirumala College finished third. Special prizes were given to VarunRaj (best batsman), Yashaswi (best bowler), Srikanth (player of the final) and Swaraj (player of the series). The results: Aurora College 109 in 19.2 overs (Srikanth 32) lost to KITS (Warangal) 110 for five in 18.1 overs Varun Raj (47).
