Staff Reporter

Decorating the boards in a fancy manner is prohibited

VIJAYAWADA : The city police will launch a special drive on number plates of vehicles in the city on Monday. Cases will be booked against vehicle owners who fail to follow the Central Motor Vehicle Rules pertaining to the display of vehicle's registration number.

Engraving of names and symbols and decorating the boards in a fancy manner are prohibited, while use of unregistered vehicles is also prohibited, said City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand in a statement on Saturday.

He warned artists who paint numbers on the boards against rules of action as per the law. Besides vehicle owners, action would also be initiated against the artists, he said.
