VIJAYAWADA : International calls will no longer burn a hole in your pocket. Nettlinx, a Hyderabad-based Internet Service Provider, launched its Matallo Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) service in Krishna district on Saturday, in association with Srivet Agencies. Sitting at home, one can make calls to the U.S., Australia and other countries using a VoIP phone and save up to 90 per cent of the tariff usually charged for international calls. Speaking at the launch function, Nettlinx marketing manager Suryakiran said it would cost just Re. 1 a minute to make international calls.
Computer not needed
There would be no need to have a computer at home and a broadband connection would be enough to enjoy the benefits of VoIP. Mr. Suryakiran said Nettlinx had a tie-up with the U.S.-based Smart IMS Corporation and formed Smart Linx Incorporation to offer this service. State-of-the-art technology and high voice clarity would remain the special features of the service, he added. Mr. Suryakiran said call waiting, call forwarding and conferencing facilities would also be offered on the VoIP phone for just Rs. 49 a month. Srivet Agencies chief executive officer V.S.K.B. Kumar said the service would be expanded to all other coastal districts soon. He said there was a facility for unlimited use of VoIP by paying Rs. 298 a month and unlimited video chat by paying Rs. 498 a month.
