Last two days for MCD registration

NEW DELHI: Only two days remain for traders, professionals and other establishments operating on 2,183 roads notified for mixed land use in the Capital to register themselves with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The last date for registration is January 15.

So far, 294,357 traders have got themselves registered with the MCD through its website, www.mcdregistration.in, dedicated to registration only. While retailers can log in by clicking on "retail login" option and following subsequent registration, establishments like pre-primary schools, nursing homes and guesthouses can use the "other login" option. Traders and other professionals can also register themselves through the official MCD website, www.mcdonline.gov.in.

Delhi Mahila Congress to hold convention

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Pradesh Mahila Congress is organising a "Mahila Congress Workers' Convention" at Vithalbhai Patel House here this Monday. The convention is likely to be attended by All-India Congress Committee general secretary Ashok Gehlot, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ram Babu Sharma, besides a number of women Congress workers.

MCD school building construction begins

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Saturday started construction work for a three-storey primary school building at Ashok Nagar here. Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ram Babu Sharma laid the foundation stone for the building that will be constructed on a 1,590 sq. m. plot within 18 months. Comprising 20 classrooms, two office rooms, two staff rooms, two science rooms and a multi-purpose hall, the earthquake-resistant building is estimated to cost Rs.1.67 crore.

Vaishali celebrations

NEW DELHI: Makara Vilakku Puja celebrations at Shree Radha Krishna Mandir in Sector 4 of Vaishali at Ghaziabad near here will be held this Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The proceedings will start with Vedic chanting by children of Bal Vikas and end with Deeparadhana followed by Laghu Bhakshanam.

New NTPC director

NEW DELHI: K. B. Dubey has taken over as the new Director (Projects) of NTPC Limited. A mechanical engineer, Mr. Dubey has earlier served the organisation as Executive Director (Corporate Monitoring) and Executive Director (Hydro).
