Memorial for K.R. Narayanan on Yamuna banks

NEW DELHI: A memorial for the former President, K.R. Narayanan, will be built at "Ekta Sthal," on the banks of the Yamuna here.

The Union Cabinet gave its approval for the memorial at the site after the cremation of of the former President on November 11, 2005, Information and Broadcasting Minister P.R. Dasmunsi told reporters.

Memorials for the former Presidents, Zail Singh and Shanker Dayal Sharma, are located at the same site.

No new land was required to build the memorial as the land at "Ekta Sthal" had been developed, Mr. Dasmunsi said.
