Office of profit: MLAs cleared
Agartala:
The Election Commission (EC) has dismissed the Tripura Opposition parties' complaint against 15 MLAs, of the ruling Left Front, including Labour minister Faizur Rehman that they were holding office of profit, official sources said here on Saturday.
The Leader of the Opposition, Ratan Lal Nath, and Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura MLA Shyama Charan Tripura had complained to the EC alleging that the MLAs were holding key posts of autonomous bodies, boards, commissions and public sector units. Sources in the Raj Bhavan on Saturday said that they received communication from the EC the charges were examined and it was found none of them were enjoying any office of profit. PTI
