Engineer killed in explosion

Srinagar: A junior engineer was killed in an explosion triggered by militants in Jammu and Kashmir, where three insurgents were arrested and a huge cache of arms and explosives seized on Thursday night. Shabir Hussain Khan, who was riding a motorcycle, was killed on the spot when the IED exploded at Hawal Chowk, a police spokesman said.

The apparent target of the attack was a road opening and mobile checking party of security forces.

Security forces arrested two Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militants at Aali masjid and Eidgah in Srinagar. - PTI
