Cabinet for rejecting mercy petition

BANGALORE:
The Cabinet on Thursday decided to recommend to Governor T.N. Chaturvedi to reject the mercy petition filed by godman Baburao Thidke.
He has been sentenced to death by a session's court for raping and murdering a 12-year-old girl in Jhamakhandi taluk of Bagalkote.
The godman from Maharashtra had camped in Hunnur village of Jhamakhandi taluk. The villagers used to supply food to him.
He had raped and murdered a 12-year-girl who had gone to provide him food.
A session's court of Jhamakhandi sentenced him to death on November 30, 2005.
