City police to continue probe into attack on IISc.

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The city police will continue to probe into the attack on the Indian Institute of Science (IISc.), Commissioner of Police Neelam Achuta Rao has said.

He was answering a question here on Thursday regarding the progress made by the city police on the probe into the attack on IISc. a year ago.

It was on the night of December 28, 2005, that armed intruders randomly shot at people coming out of the J.N. Tata Auditorium after attending an international conference, killing a scientist and injuring four others. Mr. Rao told reporters that the city police had gathered useful information about the attack.

"We will continue to gather more information," he said.

Mr. Rao ruled out any move to pass on the investigation to any other agency.
