Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Free coaching classes for candidates aspiring to join Central Government services such as Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) will be conducted by `Manithaneya Arakkattalai', a Chennai-based trust.

Trust founder Saidai S.Duraisamy said in a statement here that the classes of high standards were proposed to be conducted for 100 candidates appearing for the IAS and IPS preliminary examination scheduled for May 2007.

The five-month free coaching was aimed at helping candidates from the State to gain impressive successes, Mr. Duraisamy said. All sections of students could apply. The candidates would be selected through interviews to be conducted in Chennai. Qualified and experienced teachers would handle the classes.

Priority would be given to rural students and 33 per cent of the seats would be earmarked for women. Boarding, lodging and books would be provided to the candidates free, he said.

According to him, January 12, 2007 would be the last date for submitting the applications. Applications could be received from the IAS and IPS Free Coaching Centre, 28, First Main Road, West CIT Nagar, Chennai-600 035. They could also be downloaded from the centre's website, www.crecento.com.
