Assam mine blast kills 5

Guwahati:
Four policemen and a civilian were killed in a landmine explosion, triggered by suspected United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) militants, near Tengakhat in upper Assam's Dibrugarh district on Friday afternoon.
Inspector-General of Police (Law and Order) D.K. Pathak told The Hindu that the blast occurred when a police team was returning in a car from a tea garden.
The incident occurred around 3 p.m.
The deceased policemen belonged to 19 India Reserve Battalion of Assam Police. They have been identified as assistant sub-inspector Abdul Hamid, platoon commander Thaneswar Nath, constables Raghu Daimari and Rontu Gogoi. The civilian was yet to be identified.
