Impressive win for Ambedkar SC

BANGALORE: Ambedkar SC scored an impressive 49-43 win over Jayanagar SC in the men's pre-quarterfinal league stage of the Association Cup basketball tournament here on Wednesday.

Changing ends with a slender 28-26 lead, the Ambedkar hoopsters, with Shreyas Bhandari leading the way, kept its momentum and the lead till the very end.

HASC scored a narrow 46-41 win over Koramangala SC in another pre-quarterfinal tie. International Sanjay Raj did the bulk of the scoring for the Aircraftmen.

Women: Beagles 43 (Varsha 10, Nisha 10) bt Pinakini 29 (Tara 13, Rashmi 11) - (Ht: 25-11); Mounts Club 46 (Shikha 20, Vani 13) bt Rangers (Mysore) 33 (Bindiya 12) - (Ht: 21-26).
