Sensex steady

MUMBAI: A strong rally on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Wednesday saw the benchmark Sensex reaching another peak of 14035 but the index ended with moderate gains of just 11 points to close the day at 13,949. The Sensex could not maintain the intra-day high as investors and brokers took profit at the existing high levels.

Although the Sensex crossed the psychological 14000-mark on Tuesday, market analysts feel that the onward journey from 14000 could face hurdles as every rise above this level might attract profit taking. — PTI
