Sidhu submits fresh resignation letter
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI:
BJP MP and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu on Saturday sent a fresh resignation letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee after his first letter was rejected as it did not conform to rules.
The Speaker's office confirmed the receipt of the letter but a final decision will be taken only after Mr. Chatterjee returns from Kolkata.
Should the letter conform to the parameters laid down in Rule 240 (1) of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Lok Sabha, the Speaker will call Mr. Sidhu to personally ascertain that the resignation is voluntary and not under duress.
