Sharmila refuses to call off hunger strike

New Delhi: Irom Chanu Sharmila, the Manipuri woman on a hunger strike against the imposition of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in Manipur, on Saturday refused to call off her agitation even as Prime Minsiter Manmohan Singh said the Government was considering amendments to the 1957 legislation.

``I will continue my fast till the draconian Act is repealed,'' Ms. Sharmila, who is admitted to the AIIMS, said here soon after the Prime Minister's announcement.
