Telephone exchange to be upgraded

Staff Correspondent

MANGALORE: Existing telephone numbers coming under the Grama Chavadi E-10B exchange will be technically upgraded to Kadri OCB RSU technology from 2 p.m. on December 1. T.N. Sudhindra Kumar, principal general manager, Dakshina Kannada Telecom District of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL), in a press release here on Wednesday stated that with this technical upgradation, subscribers could avail value-added services such as Centrex, voice mail and call diversion to BSNL mobile.

However, customers of Grama Chavadi exchange should re-register their STD/ISD dynamic locking code as soon as their telephone is transferred to the new technology. Subscribers may contact 2284888 or 2287700 in case they face any difficulties following the upgradation, the release added. The main telephone directory of Dakshina Kannada Telecom District of BSNL, corrected up to November 1, 2006, will be released in January 2007.
