HASSAN: The police have arrested four persons, all autorickshaw drivers in Arsikere, and solved a murder case. Superintendent of Police Pandurange Rane told presspersons here on Monday that the accused had allegedly murdered Krishna alias Subbaiah, also an autorickshaw driver in Arsikere, and threw his body at a farm at Basavaghatta. The accused had allegedly hit Krishna with stones. Mr. Rane gave the names of the arrested as Sekhar, his brother Lokesh, Mohan and Mohiddin (all residents of Jenukallu extension in Arsikere). The police first arrested Sekhar on November 26 and based on the information given by him arrested the other three. The police said Krishna had allegedly promised the accused that he would supply counterfeit currency several times the value of genuine currency given by them. But he did not keep his promise. When they demanded Krishna to return their money, he allegedly picked a quarrel with them. Angered by this, the four allegedly pulled him out of the autorickshaw at a deserted place, hit him with stones on his face and head, tied his belt to his neck and abandoned the body. All the four have been remanded in judicial custody.
