Colonel takes charge of Infantry Battalion

Colonel George Thomas

TIRUCHI: Colonel George Thomas assumed charge as the Commanding Officer of 117 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) The Guards here recently.

A 1975-batch Commissioned Officer, Col. Thomas had earlier commanded the elite 10 Guards and 125 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) The Guards at Secunderabad.

An alumni of the Indian Military Academy, Col. Thomas has successfully completed various command and staff appointments in high altitude, counter insurgency, desert terrain and Kargil operation.

Recently, he had commanded Provost Unit (Military Police) in Jammu and Kashmir, a press release here said.
