Hindustan Zinc to invest Rs. 1,177 cr.

MUMBAI: Hindustan Zinc is going to set up three new projects pegged at Rs. 1,177 crore to consolidate its position in the metal production business as well as to foray into the emerging wind power generation business. In a communique to the Bombay Stock Exchange, HZL said the board of directors had given their go-ahead to set up a de-bottlenecking project, installation of balancing equipment at mines and an additional 80 MW captive power plant at a capital outlay of Rs. 777 crore. Further, HZL is currently setting up a wind power project up to 75 MW in Gujarat and Karnataka at an estimated capital of Rs. 400 crore to enter into wind power generation business.
