Assembly panel to review development works

To inspect site identified for IT Park

SALEM: The Estimate Committee of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly will review the progress of various development works being taken up in the district on November 22.

According to Collector N. Mathivanan, the committee, led by its Chairman K. Pichandi, will examine the activities of the self-help groups and the works carried out under the Indira Awaas Yojana. The committee members will inspect the development works taken up at the Ayodhyapattinam panchayat union. The committee will also inspect the site identified for the establishment of an Information Technology Park and Sambar Pallam water carrying channel in Aanaimarathupatti.

A meeting with the officials from the departments of rural development, highways, public works and sports will also be held. The progress of the development works taken up by these departments will be reviewed during the meeting.
