TIRUCHI: As part of the `National Land Resources Conservation Week' celebrations, the Tiruchi wing of Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu conducted an awareness run in the city on Monday. More than 75 students from six schools R.C. Higher Secondary School, Bishop Heber Higher Secondary School, St. James Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Khajamian Higher Secondary School, St. Anne's Higher Secondary School and St. John's Vestry Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School participated. The run, which was flagged off by the District Revenue Officer, R. Lily, from the Head Post Office went through TVS Tollgate, Jamal Mohammed College and ended at the Anna Stadium. At a function held at the stadium, the Chief Educational Officer, R. Muthukrishnan, gave away certificates to the participants. Mr. Muthukrishnan also urged the students to plant saplings in their neighbourhood. The District Sports Officer, C. Punniyamoorthy, and former international high jumper, N. Annavi, spoke.
