NEW DELHI: A person allegedly involved in murder of nine people, including five children, at Sheikhpura in Bihar was arrested by the Special Staff of the South Delhi police on Sunday. The Bihar administration had recently moved a proposal for declaring a reward of Rs.2 lakhs.. DCP (South ) Anil Shukla said the Special Staff came to know that Dhananjay Kumar, an accused in the massacre at Sheikhpura this May, had taken shelter in Delhi and had been living with his lover. A team led by Inspector Rajender Singh developed the input in coordination with the Bihar police and identified the Delhi and Gurgaon hideouts of the accused. Acting on a tip-off that Dhananjay would come towards Ansal Plaza in a Maruti car on Sunday, the police laid a trap on August Kranti Marg and intercepted the vehicle. When Dhananjay allegedly opened fire at them, the police fired two rounds in retaliation and then overpowered him. . On May 20, he along with his 15 accomplices had killed nine people of another caste. Dhananjay fled to Delhi after the incident.
