Rupee ends firm at 44.83

MUMBAI: The rupee firmed up against the U.S. currency on Friday after a steady start on increased dollar sales by oil corporates and importers along with increased foreign funds inflows into the stock market.

In a active trading at the interbank foreign exchange market, the Indian unit resumed flat at 44.88/90 a dollar as compared to 44.89/90 on Thursday.

Thereafter, it rose smartly and ended at 44.82/83, firmer than the previous close. — PTI
