Church incident condemned

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: The Christian United Front has condemned the "ugly incidents" which took place at St. Joseph's Church on Briand Square.

Forum president S. Malar said in a press release: "A few so-called Kannada activists entered the church premises, using abusive language and threatened the parish priest, forcibly erected a flag mast inside the church compound." This act was one of religious atrocity and defiled the purity of the church.

The incident took place on October 30 at 6 a.m. The parish priest, Father Maria Selvan, said the activists were supported by members of the Kannada Vedike (Rakshana).
