MUMBAI: Khandu Rangnekar XI grabbed a 67-run first innings lead over Vijay Manjrekar XI, with help from Noorullah Khan, Akshay Darekar and Swapnil Kulye, who took two wickets each, in the Sportstar Trophy MCA under-19 selection trial tournament's third and final round on Wednesday. After bowling out Manjrekar XI for 132 in 50.4 overs, the former cruised to 181 for five and is ahead by 248 runs on the second day of the three-day tie at the Karnatak ground, Cross Maidan. The scores: At Elf-Vengsarkar Oval: Vijay Merchant XI 263 in 76.3 overs vs. Dattu Phadkar XI 316 for nine in 91 overs (Deepak Shetty 35, Swapnil Pradhan 51, Kunal Mathure 36, Sachin Wagh 86, Sagar Krishnani three for 83, Pushakaraj Chavan five for 99). At Karnatak ground, Cross Maidan: Khandu Rangnekar XI 199 and 181 for five in 67 overs (Sridip Mangela 53, Aditya Tare 47, Ankit Mithawala 44 not out, Rehmani Sufiyan three for 60) vs. Vijay Manjrekar XI 132 in 50.4 overs.
