BPPA clarifies on cleansing activity

HYDERABAD: The Buddha Purnima Project Authority (BPPA) clarified on Monday that the Municipal Corporation began cleansing activity in and around Hussain Sagar on Friday.

With reference to a picture published in these columns, BPPA Special Officer Chandra Mohan Reddy said that it was mutually agreed upon by the BPPA and the MCH that latter would take up the cleansing work, including removal of water hyacinth, and the BPPA would reimburse the expenditure that was expected to be Rs. 2.4 lakhs a month.

The MCH pressed its workers into action and the clean-up activity would be a continuous process, he said.
