Varsity set to revamp syllabus

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI : Students would be able to participate in the revamp of syllabi and evaluation patterns at the University of Madras, Vice Chancellor S. Ramachandran has said.

He said that official approval had been granted to increase student participation in the procedures that the revamping would entail. He hoped that evaluation, which currently merely tested memory skills, could be altered to improve weightage for creativity and other skills.

Students' representation will be provided on the Board of Studies, so that the changing needs of students will be reflected in the new syllabus.
