CHENNAI: The following councillors, belonging to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, were elected chairpersons for district panchayats and municipalities in the elections held on Saturday.

Pudukkottai district: C. Muthusami - district panchayat chairman, Municipal chairpersons: Ramathilagam Udaiappan- Pudukkottai and Mariappan - Aranthangi.

Ramanathapuram district: Municipal chairmen: J. Khaleel - Rameswaram, and S.A.H. Basheer - Kizhakarai.

Tiruvarur District: Karthika Uthaman - chairperson, Mannargudi Municipality.

Tiruvallur district: Municipal chairpersons: A. Murugavel - Kathivakkam, and S. Bhama Chandran - Tiruttani.

Namakkal district: S. Gandhiselvan - district panchayat chairman. Municipal chairmen: N.R. Ramadas - Rasipuram, R. Natesan - Tiruchengodu, and S. Sekar - Kumarapalayam.

Kancheepuram district: Municipal chairpersons: R.S. Bharathi - Alandur and K. Malarvizhi - Maduranthagam.

Madurai district: B. Ashok Kumar - district panchayat chairman. Municipal chairpersons: B. Iyyammal - Anaiyur, J. Tamilarasi - Melur, R. Kanthimathi - Thiruparangundram, and T. Palaniammal - Usilampatti.

Tuticorin district: R. Kasthuri Thangam - Tuticorin Municipal chairperson.

Cuddalore district: Municipal chairmen: T. Thangarasu - Cuddalore and Patchaiappan - Panrutti.

Kanyakumari district: Ajitha Mano Thangaraj - district panchayat chairperson. Municipal chairmen: A. Revan Gill - Padmanabhapuram, and Jesiah - Colachel.

Sivagangai district: T. Sengaimaran - district panchayat vice-chairman.
