MARTIAL ART SKILLS: Sikh youth performing the `Gatka' during the procession on Wednesday.
HYDERABAD: The Guru Granth Saheb Day celebrations organised by the Sikh community in the city concluded on Wednesday. A colourful Nagar Keertan (procession) led by Nishaan Sahebans (religious flag-bearers) and Panj Pyaras (five beloved ones) was organised from the Gurudwara Saheb Charmahal to mark the day commemorating the tenth Sikh Guru Gobind Singh bestowing `guruship' on Guru Granth Sahebji, at 4.30 p.m. in the evening. The procession passed through High Court road, Madina building, Pathergatti, Charminar chowk and Puranapul. The cynosure of the procession was the specially decorated vehicle carrying sacred scripture of Sikhs and the display of `Gatka', the traditional Sikh martial art. People gathered in large numbers rendering `shabad keertans' and `kada prasad' was distributed to devotees and passers by, according to Charmahal Prabhandak Committee president S. Sukhdev Singh Pannu.
