Sabari line survey anomalies to be addressed

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Minister for Parliamentary Affairs M. Vijayakumar has said that the Government will take up complaints relating to the alignment of the proposed Sabari railway line with the Railway Ministry and Railway Board.

Responding to a calling attention motion in the Assembly on Thursday, the Minister said the Railway Ministry and the Railway Board had already approved the proposal to have the line from Angamaly to Azhutha, some 30 kilometres short of the Sabarimala Temple. The proposal is to have a new line which would involve acquisition of 207.54 acres of land in Ernakulam, 44.2 acres of land in Idukki and 217.10 acres of land in Kottayam, he said.
