Krishnagiri: The DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) has taken the lead in Krishnagiri and Hosur municipalities. Of the 33 wards in the Krishnagiri Municipality, the DMK combine has won 15 wards. The DMK has won 13 municipal wards followed by the Congress - two wards. The AIADMK has won seven wards while the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) has won two wards. Independent candidates have won the remaining nine wards. Of the 30 wards in the Hosur Municipality, the DMK alliance has captured 16 wards. Of this the DMK has won in 10 wards followed by the Congress in four wards and PMK in two wards. The AIADMK has won in seven wards. Independents have won in six wards followed by DMDK in one ward. Out of the 108 town panchayat wards in Krishnagiri district the DMK alliance has won in 36 wards followed by AIADMK in 29 wards, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and DMDK in one ward each. Independent candidates have won in 41 town panchayat wards.
