TI Cycles launches BSA Workouts range

Unveils portal that will be a one-stop solution to fitness and wellness queries

    NEW DELHI: TI Cycles of India, one of India's largest bicycles manufacturers and part of over Rs. 7,400 crore (about $1.63 billion) conglomerate, Murugappa Group, on Tuesday announced its foray into the fitness equipment vertical with the launch of BSA Workouts range of cardio and strength equipment.

    Focus on cities

    The equipment would be sold through the company's flagship BSA GO stores and other key dealers. The range would be launched in phases, with the full range being available across the top 20 cities by March 2007.

    The company also unveiled www.ticyclesindia.com/bsaworkouts, a unique portal that would be a one-stop solution to fitness and wellness queries. G. Ramprasad, President, TI Cycles of India, said initially ten models would be marketed.

    The BSA Workouts range consists of the Exerciser Cycles, Recumbent Bike, Elliptical Trainer, Motorised Treadmill and the Home Gym.

    It would be marketed in all the 20 major cities that would have an exclusive store each. There are eight exclusive stores at present.

    "At TI, we have constantly explored ways to innovate through a deep understanding of the evolving and changing needs of today's `fitness-centric' consumers and expand our product portfolio. The new range of fitness equipment is targeted at the fitness conscious urbanites looking to workout at their convenience," he said.

    The fitness portal would provide information on fitness, help the user select the right equipment for specific needs, gives nutrition and diet tips, register the equipment online, download user manuals and also enables the user be in touch with TI's fitness consultants.

    A unique metric called the `fitness quotient' has been designed to measure the fitness levels of the individual and help objectively track progress.

    The company has set up a customer care structure that will provide all requisite post purchase support.
