Ganguly to lead

KOLKATA: Sourav Ganguly will lead East Zone in the Duleep Trophy, which gets underway later this month. The selectors met here on Wednesday to decide the squad but failed to finalise the total number.

The squad:

Sourav Ganguly (capt.), Subhamoy Das, Arindam Das, Abhishek Jhunjhunwala, Deep Dasgupta, Laxmi Ratan Shukla, Rohan Gavaskar, Ranadeb Bose, Ashok Dinda, Saurashish Lahiri (Bengal), Shib Sundar Das, Pravanjan Mallick, Saurav Sehgal (Orissa), Shiv Shankar Rao (Jharkhand). Reserves: Abu Naseem Ahmed (Assam) and Manoj Tiwari (Bengal). Stand-byes: P. Aziz (Assam), Rajiv Kumar, Shahbaz Nadeem (Jharkhand), Rajiv Dutta (Tripura) and Subir Biswas (Orissa).
